TIPS FOR MEASURING
  • Measure over a form-fitting garment such as a leotard.
  • Be consistent. Have the same person measure the entire group.
  • The tape measure should be snug. Do not pull tightly or add inches to your measurements.
  • Measurements must be accurate to determine correct size.

Chest- Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of the chest keeping it parallel to the floor. For older gymnasts, measure wearing a bra if a bra is worn for competitions.

Waist - Tie a ribbon around the waist and ask the gymnast to do side bends to determine where the natural waist falls. Wrap the tape measure around your natural waist, keeping it parallel to the floor.

Hips - Wrap a tape measure around the fullest part of hips and buttocks.

GirthGirth is the most important measurement when determining size! To measure girth, place a tape measure at the top of the shoulder where a leotard strap seam sits, then down through the crotch and back to the same shoulder. Measuring tape should be close to the body but not tight.

The following measurements also need to be completed for skirted leotards

*Tie a ribbon around the natural waist to make measuring easier and consistent *

Waist to leg opening- Measure from the natural waist to the top of the leg opening. If you are unsure of where this should be, ask the gymnast to raise her leg, the leotard should sit in the natural groin fold.

Front skirt length- Measure the centre front from the natural waist to the length of skirt you desire

Back to waist length- Measure from the bottom of the neck to waist

Back pant size - You will need 3 measurements from the centre back natural waist as in the diagram to measure for the back pant of the leotard. Please mark them in the order set out below. With one end of the tape held at the centre back natural waist, hold the other end of the tape ...

  1. .The upper point of the leg opening, where the side seam meets the natural groin fold
  2.  Halfway down the buttock where the pants are at their maximum
  3. The point at which the pants disappear at the top of the leg intro the back gusset area

Back Skirt Length - Measure from the centre back natural waist to the point at which you would like the back skirt to finish. Ensure that the tape is allowed to flow over the buttocks and not pulled tight.

The deposit is non refundable in the event that you cancel.
The final balance minus the £200 deposit will be payable prior to dispatch of the leotards.

Leotards will be sent by Royal Mail and will require a signature on delivery.
